Kyle Lowry confirms Miami Heat trade

Raptors receive Dragić and Achiuwa

Lowry expected to sign three-year deal with Heat

The Miami Heat have acquired six-time All-Star guard Kyle Lowry from the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Goran Dragić and Precious Achiuwa, the teams announced on Monday.

Lowry confirmed the trade in a Twitter post, saying "Let's gooo!!! So excited to be joining the Heat family." Lowry is expected to sign a three-year deal with the Heat, ESPN reported.

The Raptors get a veteran point guard in Dragić and a young, promising forward in Achiuwa in return for Lowry.

The Heat are expected to contend for an NBA championship with Lowry in the fold. The 35-year-old guard is a proven winner, having helped the Raptors win their first NBA championship in 2019. He is also a six-time All-Star and an Olympic gold medalist.

The Raptors, meanwhile, are rebuilding after trading away Lowry and DeMar DeRozan in recent years. Dragić is a 35-year-old point guard who has been a solid contributor for the Heat over the past few seasons. Achiuwa is a 22-year-old forward who has shown promise in his young career.
