Max Verstappen continued his impressive start to the 2023 Formula 1 season by securing his sixth victory in eight races at the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday. The Red Bull driver put on a dominant display, leading the field from start to finish and crossing the line ahead of his teammate Sergio Perez.

Equalling Senna's Legacy

With his victory in Montreal, Verstappen has now matched the legendary Ayrton Senna's record of 41 career wins. The three-time world champion achieved this milestone in 161 starts, while Verstappen has reached it in just 159 races.

Russell's Strong Start

Mercedes driver George Russell qualified on pole position for the Canadian Grand Prix, setting an identical lap time to Verstappen. However, the reigning world champion had the edge in the race, as he managed to overtake Russell on the first lap and maintain his lead throughout.

Perez's Late Surge

Perez secured his second-place finish with a strong drive, passing Alpine's Esteban Ocon late in the race. The Mexican driver also claimed an additional point for setting the fastest lap of the event.
